...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 345 PM CST THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive

rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest Arkansas, southeast Oklahoma and

northeast Texas, including the following counties, in southwest

Arkansas, Hempstead, Howard, Little River, Miller and Sevier. In

southeast Oklahoma, McCurtain. In northeast Texas, Bowie,

Franklin, Morris, Red River and Titus.

* WHEN...Until 345 PM CST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

Some low-water crossings may become impassable. Ponding of water

in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

- At 1244 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to

thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream

flooding. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen.

- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected

over the area. This additional rain will result in minor

flooding.

- Some locations that will experience flooding include...

Texarkana, Ashdown, Nashville, New Boston, Mineral Springs,

Foreman, Boxelder, Hagansport, Hooks, Mount Vernon, De Kalb,

Bogata, Red Lick, Wilton, Tollette, Ogden, Ben Lomond, Dalby

Springs and Richmond.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.
