...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST THIS

EVENING...

* WHAT...Dangerous rip currents.

* WHERE...Kenedy Island, Willacy Island and Cameron Island

Counties.

* WHEN...Until 6 PM CST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away

from shore into deeper water.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and

float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a

direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the

shore and call or wave for help.

...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of far southeastern

McCulloch, far northern Mason, and southwestern San Saba Counties

through 700 AM CST...

At 610 AM CST, radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over

Fredonia in far northern Mason County, moving quickly northeast at

45 mph.

HAZARD...Winds to 40 mph and half inch to penny size hail, along

with lightning.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Minor

damage to outdoor objects is possible.

Locations impacted include...

San Saba, Richland Springs, Algerita, Fredonia, Sloan, Katemcy, Voca

and Harkeyville.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
