...Strong thunderstorms with torrential rainfall will impact
portions of west central Cattaraugus and east central Chautauqua
Counties through 345 PM EDT...
At 309 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking thunderstorms along a line
extending from near Sinclairville to western Little Valley. Very
heavy rainfall is occurring with these storms. Movement was
northeast at 10 mph.
HAZARD...Winds in excess of 30 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
New Albion, Gerry, Conewango, Ellington, Leon, Napoli, Little Valley,
East Otto, Cattaraugus, Otto, Cassadaga, South Dayton, East Randolph,
Sinclairville, Cherry Creek, Bemus Point, Hamlet, Ellery Center and
Cattaraugus County Landfill.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
