EVART – Evart has eight returning seniors on the 2016 football team who should all play a pivotal role for the Wildcats.

“We must be men of high character and strive to compete in the classroom and on the field.”

Several juniors could play a key role including Jericho VanScoyoc at running back and defensive back, and Josh Dorn and Cameron Martin at offensive and defensive line.

The Wildcats scrimmaged at St Louis on Thursday.

“We put kids in a variety of positions and gave them opportunities to show us what they’re made of,” Craven said.

Evart opens at home Friday against White Cloud.

“They’re a big physical football team,” Craven said. “They’ll try smash-mouth football. We have to match their physicality and use our speed and athleticism to our advantage.”
