GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY Pine River third REMUS \u2014 In the blue division of the Chippewa Hills Cross Country Invitational on Aug. 26, Pine River was third (74), Reed City was fourth (114) and Morley Stanwood came in fifth (114). Cheyanna Rizor led the Bucks by finishing fifth overall (22:48.47) while Olivia Thompson came in 13th (24:48.51), Julia Lucas took 15th (25:16.53), Holly Bailor finished 17th (25:26.19) and Alyssa Greer came in 27th (28:00.75). Rachel DePew also finished 30th (28:25.45) while Mariah Curtis took 50th (33:18.17) and Alexis Beebe came in 53rd (35:51.29) for Pine River. Joelynn Gamble-Brown had the best finish for the Coyotes as she crossed the finish line in seventh place (23:54.47), followed by McKenzie Cornelius in 16th (25:19.28), Lindsey Kienitz in 36th (29:18.99), Emily Nardone in 41st (30:20.73), Hana Ondrus in 44th (31:23.31), Ashley Andres in 46th (32:36.58) and Christian Parsons in 57th (38:20.39). BOYS CROSS COUNTRY Pine River takes third REMUS \u2014In the boys competition at the Chippewa Hills Invitational Aug 26, Pine River was third (53) in the blue division. The Bucks had three runners finishing in the top 10 with Ben Rigling taking fifth (18:44.38), followed by Derek Hartline in eighth (19:16.70) and Tony Moore in ninth (19:18.09). Rounding out the scorecard for the Pine River were Jordan Stone in 13th (20:09.09), Brady Long in 23rd (22:25.62), Mark Greer in 25th (23:04.60), Phillip Ragatzki in 27th (23:38.55), Sam Pentces in 28th (23:48.07), Wade Fullerton in 44th (29:01.67) and Spencer Haskel in 45th (32:01.87). Reed City did not log a team score in the boys competition, but Matt McGahey finished 17th (21:10.63). The Coyotes are scheduled to be at Mason County Central for the Leanna Geers Invite on Sept. 4 and the Bucks will next be at Manton on Sept. 3. Evart at Hesperia HESPERIA\u00a0\u2014 The Evart boys cross country team was fourth out of eight teams at the Hesperia Invitational on Wednesday. Santana Scott, Evart\u2019s top runner, was unavailable for the meet. Josh Woods was in the top 30 for the boys. Mara VanOrder was in the top 30 for the girls. Evart runs at Manton Tuesday and at Bullock Creek on Saturday.
