Individuals going 2-0 for Reed City were Dannica Bregg, Logan Kindig, Miles McCarthy, Ayden Mullen, Breaden Ghent, David Wayne, Noah Morgan, Bryson Hughes, Wyatt Spalo, Carter Johnson and Hannah Los. Reed City has a season record 20-9 under coach Roger Steig. This Thursday, Reed City is at home for the 131 showdown with Cadillac and Pine River.\u00a0 BOYS BASKETBALL Cadillac 65, Reed City 39 CADILLAC \u2013 Reed City fell to 8-3 overall following Tuesday\u2019s nonleague loss to Cadillac (10-3). Leading Reed City were Seth Jackson and Isiah Moore with nine points apiece, Canyon Reed with seven, Spencer Hanen six and Max Hammond five. Reed City is home with Tri County on Friday and home with Big Rapids on Monday. GIRLS BASKETBALL Newaygo 43, Reed City 21 REED CITY \u2013 Newaygo (7-0, 12-1) remained undefeated in the CSAA Gold with Tuesday\u2019s win over Reed City \u00a0(3-4, 4-9). Newaygo led 11-6 after the first quarter, 23-6 at halftime and 32-10 after the third quarter. Christina Malackanich had seven points while Kyleigh Weck added six. \u201cNewaygo is the real deal,\u201d Reed City coach Tim Beilfuss said. \u201cThey came out, pressured us and forced some turnovers. We had been playing better.\u201d Reed City is home on Friday with Tri County. Evart 54, Pine River 39 EVART \u2013 Evart led 14-11 after the first quarter, 28-19 at halftime and 40-27 after the third quarter. Hayleigh Wanstead had 13 points for Pine River along with eight rebounds. Madi Sparks had 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists and Amanda Hill had seven points. For Evart, Skylar Baumgardner had 18 points and Addy Gray had 11. \u201cIt was a physical game,\u201d Pine River coach Paula Justin said. \u201cWe had just too many turnovers. Evart goes after the ball the entire game and it gets real physical. We just don\u2019t handle it well. This was a little disappointing after our game on Friday when we played with such intensity (in a 36-35 loss to Lake City). We couldn\u2019t match it tonight.\u201d Evart is 6-5 in the league and 7-5 overall Pine River is 3-6 and 5-8. Pine River is home with Manton on Thursday. Evart is home next Tuesday with Beaverton.
