REED CITY \u00a0\u2014 Reed City\u2019s boys golf team participated in action last week. The Coyotes were in a scramble at The Royal at Canadian Lakes, hosted by Chippewa Hills. Reed City was also in an invitational hosted by Lakeview at St. Ives. Coach Katrina Wray said her team improved from last year in a 27-hole match play after St. Ives. \u201cIt\u2019s the only time of year we play match play,\u201d she said. In the first round of nine, Reed City junior Brady Slater and no. 2, sophomore Bryce Grannis, won their nine-hole match. All six of Reed City\u2019s players won the second set of nine holes. Slater finished second in his flight, overall. Grannis was second in his flight. \u201cAs a team, we played against eight teams in our division,\u201d Wray said. \u201cWe tied for fourth overall. It was the best weather we\u2019ve had and the best we played there. I was happy with the improvement.\u201d Matt Swales is a sophomore and the other players outside of Slater and Grannis are freshmen, Wray said. Wednesday, Reed City plays at The Royal.
