Maddie Morgan took the pitching loss in the first game, allowing 12 runs, eight hits and six walks, while striking out four. Gabby Augstott threw a no-hitter against Reed City. Jocelyn Wirth took the loss in the second game, allowing 11 runs on four hits, striking out one and walking six. Morgan pitched in relief and allowed seven runs on five hits, striking out eight and walking three. Devin Willard had two hits for Reed City, Taylor Cutler, Abby Helsel, Morgan and Wirth had one hit. \u201cWe had a young lineup,\u201d Reed City coach Roger Steig said. \u201cIn summer ball, we have a mix of young girls with older girls. For Pine River, KayLee Goodman had two singles and two runs. Hannah Hill and Kourtney Brock also had hits. Mackenzie Denton was the winning pitcher, allowing six hits and striking out six. For the Alumni, Lindsay Nelson and Kassy Nelson had two hits, Jules Griffin had a hit and two RBIs. Griffin went six innings, allowing seven hits and striking out six. The Alumni won the second game 5-2. Griffin was again the winning pitcher. For the Alumni, Kaylynn Hastings had two singles and two RBIs, and Taylor Steig and Ally Yarger had a single and two RBIs. Griffin allowed eight hits and three walks, while walking three. For Pine River, Goodman and Kourtney Brock had two hits. Brock and Ally Stokely also had two RBIs. Bekah Dean was the losing pitcher. In games this Wednesday at Bristol, Reed City plays Pine River and the Alumni faces Tri County.
