LEROY\u00a0-\u00a0A solid volleyball season for the Pine River Bucks that ended last month also produced several players with all-Highland Conference honors. Michelle Kelsey, Kassy Nelson and Alexis Stokely were on the first team and Paige Esiline earned honorable mention honors. Kelsey this season had 210 kills, 20 blocks, 231 digs, 54 service ages and 11 assists. "Michelle led the team by example," said Pine River coach Jana Dennis. "She was a hard worker and enjoyed hitting hard and often." Nelson contributed 197 kills, 269 digs, 15 blocks, 58 service aces and 11 assists. "Kassy was a great leader, the constant calm on the floor," Dennis said. "Her desire to win fuels her spirit from point one to point 25. Stokely had 76 kills, 181 digs, 10 blocks, 71 service aces and 643 assists. "Alexis really stepped up her game this year," Dennis said. "She took the team's losses to heart and always strived to do better than the last time." Esiline was a strong contributor in various areas for the Bucks. "Paige did a great job playing all the way around," Dennis said. "She was a quiet leader who worked hard on improving from the first day through the last day." Dennis also cited Rachel Motzer for having a strong season. "Rachel did a great job playing the right side," Dennis said. "She gave a good block and was always a reliable hitter."
