LEROY \u00a0\u2014 Logan Powell is among the Pine River volleyball players who is now making the transition to basketball. The volleyball season ended for the Bucks earlier this month with a 3-0 loss in the Class C districts to Morley Stanwood. Powell saw improvements throughout the season. \u201cWe\u2019re not where we want to be but we have lot of potential,\u201d Powell said during the season. Powell was setter for Pine River this season. \u201cI feel like I\u2019ve improved a lot,\u201d she said. \u201cI feel way more comfortable and it\u2019s more fun and I\u2019m not as stressed. I know how to play my position a lot better. I know the girls and how they like their sets more.\u201d Her serving also has been a weapon for Powell. \u201cI\u2019ve been working on picking my spots where my coach wants me to,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m hoping to be more consistent. A lot of them aren\u2019t where where I want them to be.\u201d As the Bucks neared the end of the season, Powell had one specific goal. \u201cI just want us to have fun, keep our heads up and be proud,\u201d she said. Powell is expected to be among Pine River\u2019s top basketball players this season. This marks the second week of practice.
