LEROY \u2014 Seniors like Devin Ruppert are hoping this will be a special season for the Pine River boys basketball squad. The Bucks play Tuesday night at McBain and are off until Jan. 4 when they play at Marion. \u201cWe played Sacred Heart our third game and they\u2019re always a top team and we scored a lot of points,\u201d Ruppert said.\u00a0 Ruppert anticipated McBain would give Pine River its toughest test to date. \u201cThey\u2019re always well coached and they play good defense and rebound,\u201d Ruppert said. \u201cThey\u2019re disciplined on offense. You have to play well to beat them.\u201d Rebounding and defense was set to be a key. Ruppert is in his third varsity season. There\u2019s plenty of games to be played but Ruppert likes his team\u2019s potential. \u201cIf we play well, we\u2019ll be ahead in the conference and districts,\u201d he said.
