REED CITY - Fischer Morrison's first successful deer hunt is one he'll remember for a long time. The bow season started on Oct. 1 and Morrison bagged his buck on Oct. 4. "It was my first ever buck I shot," he said. "I shot it when it was walking. I hit both of his lungs and he ran straight up a hill about 50 yards and died." It was a 9-point buck and Morrison said it weighed about 175 pounds. He shot the buck behind his house in Hersey. "I used a crossbow," Morrison said. "It came in to the food plot about an hour after I got in the blind. He came in with a 4-point and five does and chased the little 4-point off, then he came to eat." The firearm season starts on Nov 15.
