LEROY\u00a0- Jordan Lodholtz of LeRoy is among the successful area bow hunters so far this season. He bagged his buck opening night (Oct. 1) in the 14 Mile Road area near LeRoy. It was an 8-point buck with 18-inch inside spread. "It came in with two other bucks," he said. "He was the last one to come in probably 10 minutes before the end of the shooting hour. I tracked him until about 11:30 and found him the next morning." Lodholtz shot the buck about 15 yards away. He made a connection in the buck's neck. It was his first deer with a bow. "I've gotten lots of does and one other buck with a rifle," he said. "It was the most exciting thing I've ever done in my entire life. My chest was beating so hard I thought my heart was going to pop out. You're so close and it's one of the biggest bucks I've ever seen up here. It's a really big buck." Prior to his hunt, Lodholtz knew, thanks to his trail cam, the buck was out there. "I had him one other time on trail cam like two weeks before that," Lodholtz said. "That's all I had of him." Lodholtz likes the prospects for the rest of the season. "I have about four other eight points on my trail cam," he said. "There's a couple little six pointers and a lot of does."
