LEROY - KayLee Goodman is in the final weeks of her Pine River basketball career and hopes to close everything on a high note. She's a key senior on a team that was 8-6 going into action this week. The Bucks had won three straight heading into this week. They will be at McBain on Thursday. After the Bucks started out 3-2, Goodman was optimistic her team could stay on a high note despite losing key players from last year's team that advanced to the regional finals. "We still have work to do," she said. "We have to have confidence in each other and know what to do and not what to do." The key for the Bucks to stay competitive is "all around working hard as a team," Goodman said. "Rebounding is the key, I think." Goodman is a four-year senior, who recently signed to play volleyball at Cornerstone. By the time the basketball season ends, she was confident of playing her best basketball. "I don't think I'm at where I should be right now," she said. "But I should be by the end of the season." Goodman has tried to help the team with her defensive skills. "I'm not the best shooter," she said. "I try to drive and dish out."
