EVART \u2013 Cadence Lawrence was a unique performer in her senior season for Evart. It was only her second volleyball year in high school as she hadn\u2019t played since her freshman season. \u201cIt\u2019s my senior year,\u201d Lawrence said on her decision to come out for volleyball in 2021. \u201cI just took a break from sports because I wanted to work.\u201d Lawrence played back row left side for the Wildcats. \u201cI was there for covering the hitters,\u201d she said. \u201cI hustle a lot and dive for the ball a lot.\u201d Since she was out of volleyball two years, when Lawrence returned, \u201cit took me awhile to adjust,\u201d she said. \u201cI usually started out really nervous.\u201d Lawrence has had some top moments on the court and said she\u2019s glad she came out this season. \u201cI like being with the team and watching everybody,\u201d Lawrence said. \u201cI like the game.\u201d She also plays softball. Amanda Brown is Evart\u2019s coach in both sports. She also has done cheer and may be with the competitive cheer team, this seasom, coached by Martee Pattee. The volleyball team was 6-27 but kept showing signs of improvement, Lawrence said. The team had to battle bouts of illnesses throughout the season.
