EVART\u00a0\u2014 Livia Hopkins is learning varity volleyball in a hurry. The Evart freshman was brought up to the varsity in the preseason. She was elated to hear the news. \u201cI was very excited because I knew the girls on the team,\u201d she said. \u201cI was out most my eighth-grade because I had a torn muscle in my shoulder.\u201d Hopkins was forced to learn the varsity game in a hurry. \u201cIt\u2019s the speed of the ball and how big the girls are,\u201d she said. Hopkins is an outside hitter. \u201cI try to find open gaps and try to hit it a hard as I can,\u201d Hopkins said. She indicated she\u2019s been achieving that goal, for the most part. \u201cWe need to work as a team on our passing,\u201d Hopkins said. \u201cWe\u2019re really close as a team. It\u2019s easy to cheer each other up and know how to make each other laugh and everything.\u201d Evart is at Farwell on Thursday.
