EVART \u2014 Evart\u2019s boys track team entered Tuesday\u2019s Highland Conference meet this week with a good shot at winning a conference crown. That\u2019s because on May 17 at home, Evart finished the dual season undefeated. Evart had 88 points for the boys, while Beal City had 54 and Marion 10. For the girls, Beal City had 71, Marion 57 and Evart 35. First place for the Evart boys were Danny Griffin in the 100 meters (11.84) and 400 meters (54.61), Cody Pritchard in the 200 meters (24.25) and long jump (19-4), Santana Scott in the 1,600 meters (4:35.90), and 3,200 meters (10:28.50), the 4x100 relay team (45.85), the 4x400 relay team (3:47.30), the 4x800 relay team (9:17.70), and Zach Parshall in the high jump (6-1). \u201cWe want to win it, we don\u2019t want to share it,\u201d Evart coach Dennis Peacock said prior to the Highland Conference meet. \u201cLake City is very good. I think we\u2019re solid in both (duals and invitationals). We have a very nice team. We were missing some guys (on May 17) who were nursing injuries. When we get to full strength, we\u2019ll be solid.\u201d Getting first places for the Evart girls were Brooke Belleville in the 100 meters (13.55), the 4x100 relay team (53.99), Mara VanOrder in the high jump (5-0) and Macey Wallace in the long jump (14-6).
