HOUGHTON LAKE --  Evart (12-11) advanced to the finals of the Division 3 district at Houghton Lake following Wednesday, March 8 with a 72-42 win over Roscommon (7-16).

Evart led 14-10 after the first quarter, 23-22 at halftime and 48-31 after the third quarter.

Dakobe White and Kamden Darling had 17 points apiece for Evart. Noah Vanderline had 11 points.

“We started a little tight and slow, being our first postseason game,” Evart coach Kyle Morgan said. “Roscommon had a lot more energy and hustle. Coming out of halftime, we challenged them to respond and they did. Kamden Darling started the second half with three straight steals and layups.

“Dakobe White followed that up with two breakaway layups pushing our lead to 10. We continued to pressure and create turnovers. Our shots started falling. Jordin Albright hit for seven points in the third. Dakobe and Noah Vanderline each hit big threes in the fourth to seal it.”
