MANTON – It was a big night for the Evart Wildcats and not just because they defeated Manton in 50-13 in girls Highland Conference girls basketball action on Friday.

Senior Addy Gray also topped the 1,000 points total in her career.

The Wildcats improved to 10-1 in the league to keep pace with Lake City for first place. Evart is 13-2 overall. Manton fell to 5-6 and 5-9.

Gray reached 1,000 points in her career by scoring 20 against Manton.

“The Evart girls basketball team, the community and the school are very proud of her to reach this achievement,” Evart coach Carrie Kunkle said. “We believe she’s only one of three people in the history of Evart basketball to reach 1,000 points.”

Gray scored 20 points with three 3-pointers and was 7-of-8 from the free-throw line. Gray also had seven rebounds and five steals.

Kyrah Gray had 15 points, Brooklyn Decker had four and Emma Dyer had three points. Kyrah Gray had six steals, six rebounds and four assists. Dyer had five assists, five steals and five rebounds.

“It was a really good game tonight,” Isanhart said. “It was so much fun to see the team celebrate Addy as she reached that milestone. We were proud of her and happy for her to reach it.”

Earlier this season, Gray passed the 100 mark in career 3-pointers.

Evart is home with McBain on Tuesday.
