Yarger off to strong start in senior season

REED CITY — Ally Yarger is among the Reed City seniors working to help the Coyotes present a solid volleyball attack in upcoming weeks.

Reed City has started the season slow, including a close 3-1 loss to Newaygo recently. The Coyotes won the first game.

“We played pretty good,” Yarger said. “Defensively we played good. Offensively, we need to work on more execution.”

Defense was a strong asset against Newaygo.

“We need more kills,” Yarger said.

It’s her second varsity season.

“I feel like I’m doing pretty good all the wayaround,” Yarger said. “I need to work on offense too.”

Her role has stayed the same from last season.

“We have a young team but we know each well,” she said. “That helps a lot.”

Yarger has seen progress made since the season started in August.

“All way around, we made quite a bit,” Yarger said.

Yarger had 41 digs against Newayo.

Reed City is at Central Montcalm Tuesday.
