EVART - Evart needed a win on Friday to make the playoffs but the Wildcats lost to Harrison 36-34.

The Wildcats ended the season at 4-5. Harrison is 5-4 and made the playoffs.

Evart trailed 16-13 after the first quarter, 21-13 after the second quarter and 27-19 after the third quarter. Evart had a 14-6 scoring advantage in the fourth.

Danny Witbeck threw a 19-yard and 3-yard touchdown passes to Donavin Reagan. The third score was a multi-player catch and lateral from Witbeck to Hayden Simmer to Reagan to Nolan Rohen for 68 yards, followed by a 5-yard touchdown pass from Witbeck to Braden Cass. The final touchdown was Witbeck to Reagan for 11 yards.

Witbeck was 13-for-29 for 301 yards and five touchdowns. Justin O'Dell had four catches for 90 yards. Cam Brasington had six catches for 59 yards. Reagan had six catches for 59 yards. Rohen had three catches for 64 yards.

"We were within two points," Evart coach Pat Craven recalled. "They had a fourth down and five from their own 40-yard line with about two minutes to go. They went for it instead of punting and got it. We used our last timeout and tried to allow them to score so we could get the ball back. The running back ran to about the 20-yard line and took a knee.

"The kids played their tails off. It was a back and forth game. We threw the ball very well. We were super explosive offensively. There was such a size difference up front and we could not stop their run game. They only passed the ball once. They ran the ball the rest of the night. They had 66 carries for 381 yards."
