Whitetails Unlimited set for banquet on June 24

BIG RAPIDS — With restrictions slowly being eased on indoor gatherings. The local Whitetails Unlimited Chapter is making plans for a June banquet.

Event organizer Randy LaPreze said the event is set for Thursday, June 24 at the Big Rapids Eagles Club. It will start at 5:30 p.m.

“We’ll be doing everything we can to make it a good safe event for everybody,” LaPreze said. “We’ll follow whatever the guidelines are come June 24.”

The prevailing regulations will dictate how many can attend the event, LaPreze said. “The Eagles are up to date on all the limits and things. We’ll follow whatever the limits are based on the size of their facility and what we have set up.

“If we have to have a tent for people, to handle some of the stuff we have, we’ll look at that, if need be, to have a portion of it outdoors.”

Participants must get tickets in advance. Tickets are available at whitetailsunlimited.com right now.

“I’m not selling them,” LaPreze said. “It will be right through the office.”

Raffles, games, drawings, live actions and silent actions will be feature. Proceeds go to 2Hats Ranch and Quest Ministries which sponsor Purple Heart/Disabled Vet funds and the youth challenge hunts.

This will be the 25th Mecosta County banquet. Last year’s banquet was canceled because of COVID.
