REED CITY - Mackenzie Wein is among the key seniors on a Reed City volleyball team which has no juniors and is trying to use a mixture of 12th and 10th graders to get the job done on the volleyball court this season.

Wein is one of four seniors on a team which also has four sophomores.

She's in her second varsity year and helped the Coyotes to a 3-1 CSAA Gold win on Oct.1 at Chippewa Hills.

"I believe I've improved a lot," she said. "My hitting has gotten a lot better. My serving has gotten a lot better."

Wein has always been a leftside hitter.

"My strengths are talking a lot and letting the team know where the ball is and having an eye on the court," she said. "I'm working on my jump serve. It's gotten to be pretty good. You have to focus and make sure you have your steps right."

Reed City and still has several weeks of action to go.

"I think we're going to come along better and put it all together and win more," Wein said "This is the closest team I've ever had."
