EVART — Dana Vore is the only returning member from last season’s Evart competitive cheer squad, which has had some impressive performances so far this year.

One of the early season performances for Vore and her team came at the Evart Invitational in early January and the squad took second place. She usually has been a base.

“Today was great,” she said. “From the last competition, we got 100 points better. That’s so big.”

Plenty of progress was made by the team since November, Vore said, and the scores continue to improve.

“Working together and always having positive attitudes,” are the keys for the team to have success, Vore indicated.

Round 3, involving stunts, has usually been the best round for the Wildcats. Vore explained the key behind the success.

“It’s with the base and the timing,” Vore said, “and the flyers need to stay tight.”

Evart finished second in a home meet recently. The Wildcats are slated to be at the districts later this month followed by the regionals and the state finals.
