LEROY -- Tyler Lewis likes shooting the 3-point shot, especially when he makes it, which has been a lot lately.

Lewis, a senior, had four triples Monday night in his team’s 64-45 victory over Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart.

So far. Lewis has been having success with the 3-pointers.

“You have to know when to shoot them and have good form,” Lewis said. “It’s just lots of shots, you have to practice.”

Having a strong inside game with the likes of Lincoln Erickson and Devin Ruppert also opens up the threes, Lewis noted.

“Once they get it to me, other guys are open,” Lewis said. “If they double team me other guys are  open, I can give it to Lincoln and he’s open.” Lewis said his offense has improved.

“I still need to work on my defense,” he said. “It’s getting better.”

The Bucks are off to a 3-0 start.

“We’re all doing really good,” Lewis said. “We have a really deep bench. We’re upbeat all the time. It tires the other team out.”

The Bucks play Highland Conference power McBain Dec. 18 in a key early season battle.

“We’re going to work hard all this week and go hard every day,” Lewis said. “It will be uptemo D, pushing the ball and denying the bigs.”

There’s still plenty of basketball to be played, but Lewis like his team’s prospects.

“I think we can win conference and districts if we work at it,” he said. “We have a really deep bench and a lot of talent on this team. We all work together and move the ball around really well.”
