Storch's home run power leads Coyotes

REED CITY — Jordyn Storch became only the second Reed City player to hit back-to back home runs in Reed City history when she did the trick in the second game on Friday. She also had a home run in the first game.

Fremont won 7-4 in the opener and 17-16 in the second game.
Sidni Rushford took the loss in the opener, striking out nine and allowing 11 hits. She had two hits while Storch and Kamryn Myers had two apiece.

Maddie Morgan took the loss in the second game. Storch and Kierra Barker had three hits each. Rushford, Morgan and Madi Sunderlin had two hits apiece. Myers and Mady Brown had one hit each. Storch had two home runs and six RBI.

"After her second home run, they wouldn't pitch to her the rest of the game," Steig said. "They intentionally walked her."

Jessie Kohlhoff is the other Reed City player with back-to-back homers.
Reed City (4-6, 4-3) is at Grant on Friday.

"We got our offense going," Steig said. "Our pitchers are still struggling a little bit on the mound"

Manton 5-3, Reed City 3-10

MANTON — Reed City lost the first game of a twinbill 5-3 on April  18 to nonleague foe Manton but won the second 10-3.

Sidni Rushford allowed five runs on five hits, walking none and fanning four. Morgan had two hits while Myers and Devin Willard had one apiece.

In the second game, Morgan took the win,. allowing three runs on two hits, striking out three and walking two. Myers had three hits while Morgan and Bailey Brummel had two apiece. Storch, Rushford, Willard, Kierra Barker and Mady Sunderlin had two apiece.

Reed City is home Friday against Fremont.
