REED CITY — If the weather cooperates, life will keep being fine this summer at Spring Valley Golf Course.

Owners Don and Carolyn Semeyn have various events all summer, including the Osceola County Habitat for Humanity outing on June 19.

“We try to give non-profit (groups) a little better rate,” Carol Semeyn said. “Mecosta -Osceola WISE, we have that outing every year.”

The Commission on Aging had an outing last week, and the Department of Human Services Gifts for Kids Program golf outing will take place at July 16.

Six leagues are on the weekly slate this season. It starts on Sundays with the afternoon scramble league with sign-up between 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. It’s open to all golfers and all skill levels. The league makes the foursome. The final date is Sept. 21.

The Monday Masters league is open to all men 55 and older and tees off at 1:30 p.m. The final Monday is Sept. 22. That same day, the course offers the Monday women’s league with women of all skill levels encouraged to play. There are tee times of 4 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. The final day is Sept. 15.

There’s also the Wednesday women league, which again invites ladies of all skill levels during the morning with 10 a.m. teeoff time. It’s a nine-hole league with an 18-hole option. The final day is Sept. 17.

Two men’s leagues are set, including on Tuesday with a night that features golfers of any skill level. Tee times are 4-6 p.m. with a final date of Sept. 16.

The Thursday men’s league is a partner league and has a 5 p.m. shotgun start. Playoffs are Sept. 11 and final round Sept. 13.

The Friday couples league has tee times 4:30-5:30 p.m. with a wrap-up date of Sept. 19.

Charities continue to have outings at the course to raise additional funds.
