Reed City boys third
BENZIE – Reed City boys were third among 15 teams in the medium schools division of the Pete Moss Benzie Central Invitational on Saturday.
For Reed City, August Rohde was eighth (16:42.1), Anthony Kiaunis ninth (16:49.3) Ryan Allen 14th (17:24.8), Ty Kailing 33rd (18:19.9), and Paul Saladin 51st (19:10.7).
Morley Stanwood did not have a full team but Tyler Vining was 44th (18;44.1) and Shelby Hopkins 65th (19:45).
Pine River finished last. Gavin Kelso was 61st (19:36.8).
For the girls out of 18 teams, Reed City was seventh, Morley Stanwood eighth and Pine River 11th.
For Reed City, Nora Smoes was 16th (21:14.6), Clare Smoes was 35th (22:48.2). Carly Carlson was 54th (24;20.5), Caelynn London 60th (24:30.1) and Makayla Watkins 74th (25:06.7).
For Morley Stanwood, Miranda McNeil was sixth (19:41.2), Claire Johnston 48th (23:58.6), McKenzie Houtman was 57th (24;24.9), Taytum Sanford 89th (26:00) and Grace Supanich 96th (26:19).
Amanda Hill was 53rd (24:12.5) to lead Pine River.

Pine River wins
LEROY – Pine River traveled to Harrison on Wednesday and won in three sets. Scores were 25-19, 25-19, 25-19.
“We served very aggressive tonight and played as a team,” PR coach Jana Dennis said. “This was a good win tonight. It was a whole team effort. This is the first step in the right direction.”
Pine River is 2-2 and is home with Ludington and Benzie on Aug. 31.
