SOCCER

Reed City 7, Fremont 1

Reed City posted this CSAA tournament win on Monday.

"The last time we played them we tied even though, we had a lot more shots than they did," Reed City coach Andrea Pollaski said. "This time same story, but we finished our chances better."

Paige Lofquist and Claudia Francke had three goals apiece. Christina Malackanich had one.

BASEBALL

Evart 1-1

EVART - Evart is home with Roscommon on Tuesday.

On Saturday, 1-1 at Manistee tournament.

The first game, Evart won 16-2 vs. Manistee and in the second game lost 4-1 to Mason County Central.

Game 1 winning pitcher was Danny Witbeck with three innings and eight strikeouts, Nate Sochocki and Haidyn Simmer pitched in relief. Hitters were Pierce Johnson and Mack Sims with a single and Haidyn Simmer with a single, triple, and two RBIs, Witbeck with two singles, and three RBIs, Reese Ransom two singles and an RBI, and Nate Sochocki with two singles.

Witbeck took the loss in the second game. Reese Ransom, and Sochocki had two singles apiece.

"In the title game we came out a little flat," Evart coach Josh Johnson said. "We made a few errors, which led to three unearned runs. It is very uncharacteristic of us to make defensive miscues. We out hit MCC, but left guys on base every inning."

Evart is 16-6.

Pine River 2-0

Pine River swept Lakeview on Monday 17-6 and 14-7. Winning pitchers were Cole Hill and Garrett Sumpter. Leading hitters included Ben Lockhart who had a home run and two RBIs. Austin Dean had two hits and an RBI. Zach Lemmon had two hits, including a double and RBI.

In the second game, Cole Hill had three hits, including a double, triple and RBI, Lockhart had three hits, Connor Rouse had two hits with three RBIs.

SOFTBALL

Reed City loses pair

Reed City lost to Newaygo 13-2 and 13-3. Izabell Guy was the pitcher of record in both games. Leading hitters in game 1 with two hits each were Lily Andres and Kaylin Goodman. With one hit each was Guy and Rylie Shafer. Leading hitters in game two with one hit each were Guy, Kaylin Goodman and Gabbie Adrianse.

Evart over Houghton Lake

EVART--Evart took a pair from Houghton Lake on Thursday.

Addy Gray was the winning pitcher in the first game which was 15-0. She allowed one hit in three innings and struck out six. Ryenn Baumgardner had three hits and four RBIs.

Ally Theunick led off the game with a home run. Evart had 14 hits. Ryenn Baumgardner, Liv Vanassche, Skylar Baumgardner and Kate Duncan all collected multiple hits. Evart didn't have an error.

The second game took the lead with five runs in the second inning. Brooklyn Decker had a single and scored a run. Evart scored seven runs in the sixth inning with Kate Gosselin, Baumgardner, Duncan, Faith Hamilton and Decker all driving in runs. Gosselin was the winning pitcher.

Evart had 11 hits. Decker had three hits.

Pine River 2-0

LEROY - Pine River swept Lakeview in nonleague softball action on Monday.

It was 16-5 in the first game and 16-1 in the second.

Amanda Hill was the winning pitcher in the first game. She had three strikeouts and allowed two hits and walked one. Emma Whitley had four strikeouts and allowed four hits in relief.

Whitley had three hits with a home run and double and three RBIs, Amanda Hill with three hits with two RBIs, Kim Hill with two hits and one RBI, Alaina Nichols had a hit and RBI, Madi Sparks had two hits and an RBI. Vivian Maddox had two hits and two RBIs.

Whitley threw a one-hitter in the second game and took the win. Corneshia Holmes had two hit, including a triple and three RBIs. Maddox had two hits and two RBIs. Whitley had two hits.

Pine River 2-0

LEROY - The Bucks swept Manton in Highland Conference action on Tuesday 6-5 in eight innings and 15-5

Reed City JVs win

REED CITY -- Reed City won both ends of a JV double header with Pine River on Thursday. Game 1 was 22-7 and Game 2 was 14-2. Izabell Guy was the winning pitcher in both games. Leading hitters for the night were Guy and Desaray Conklin with three hits each, Kailie Myers and Kaylin Goodman each had two hits. Kylee Hatfield and Autumn Thompson each had one hit.

The JV record is 2-2 and RC is at the Kingsley tournament Saturday.

GOLF

Reed City second

BIG RAPIDS - Brett Lilienthal and the Big Rapids golf team continues its march toward another Central State Activities Association title.

The Cardinals were first at the CSAA jamboree on Tuesday at Waters Edge in Hesperia with a 325.

Luke Welch had a 78, followed by Kyle Schroeder (79), Dawson Currie (80), Lilienthal (88), Zachary Steers (90) and Preston Younge (94).

Reed City was second with a 363. Fischer Morrison led the Coyotes with 80, followed by Nick Wirgau (87), Michael Perri (87), Hunter McConnell (111) and Isiah Zelinski (111).
