VOLLEYBAL
Lake City 3, Pine River 1
Pine River lost in the Division 3 district semifinal on Wednesday. Scores were: 25-20, 18-25, 25-13, 25-14.
For Pine River, Emma Whitley had 12 kills, 10 assists, and 14 digs; Lillian Johnson had nine kills; Madi Sparks had eight kills and 16 digs and Skye Prosch added 12 digs.
“We came in with a good game plan of serving aggressive and being all in the entire night,” Pine River coach Jana Dennis said. “I felt that we definitely served aggressive. We struggled with playing consistent. We had a great game 2 but just couldn't keep that momentum going into the next two sets. I thought the players that had to step into new roles tonight did a great job.
“Our seniors were also leaders tonight on and off the court. A loss in post season is never one that makes us happy but we built some great memories and overcame lots of obstacles in this crazy 2020 season. We are thankful that we were able to have a full and safe season.”
Lake City defeated Evart in the district earlier in the week.
