Dale Clark recognition

REED CITY — Vern Schooley, a 1956 Reed City graduate, is trying to get athletes that played for Dale Clark at Reed City High School to be at the special ceremony for the former coach who was elected to the Michigan coaches Hall of Fame in 1980.

Smith’s memory will be honored with special plaque presentation at halftime of the Baldwin at Reed City football game, which kicks off 7 p.m. on Aug. 28.

Schooley, who now lives in Los Angeles, said he needed to correct  a statement he made in the Aug. 13 Herald-Review. He said in that article that he still owns a farm in the area. Schooley said on Monday that a relative, Jason Gawne, now owns the farm.
