Reed City at Ludington

LUDINGTON -- Reed City lost to Ludington, Beaverton and Pine River in a Friday quad.

For RC, Kyleigh Weck had four aces, 27 kills and 21 digs, Kenzie Shoemaker had eight digs, Molly Bowman had seven aces, eight kills and 40 digs; Rachel VanDyke, had four aces two kills, 62 assists and 26 digs; Andie Bennett had two aces, five kills and 20 digs; Kendell Henry had three aces and 33 digs; Christina Malackanich had three aces, 18 kills and 18 digs and Emma Johnson had three kills and five digs.

“We played pretty up and down on Friday,” Reed City coach Don Patterson said. “We had some good games and some tough stretches.”

BOYS SOCCER

Pine River 1, Cadillac Heritage 1

CADILLAC -- Nathan Marks scored for Pine River in Friday’s game and the Bucks are 0-1-1. Daniel Laydet and Brody Swanson were PR keepers.

The offense and defense played “100 percent better” than our first game, Bucks coach David Fischer said.

PR is home on Wednesday vs. Crossroads at 5:30 p.m.

Clare 5, Pine River 0

CLARE – Clare got out to a 4-0 halftime lead and went on to this Wednesday nonleague victory.

“It was a tough first game,” Pine River coach Dave Fischer said. “We were kind of getting our feet wet. We held them to one goal the second half. I think we’re going to have a pretty good season. We have to understand what our roles and positions are.”

Daniel Leydet had 10 saves as Pine River’s goalie.
