Cadillac 52, Reed City 24

CADILLAC -- Reed City fell to 0-2 with this non-league loss Thursday.

Cadillac had quarter leads of 13-4, 34-11 and 42-15.

Paige Lofquist had 11 points for Reed City and Taylor Harrison had seven.

"Cadillac is tough this year," Reed City coach Tim Beilfuss said. "They're guard heavy. We're young at guard. It was a learning game for us. Our kids are playing hard. They are competing."

The Coyotes will be home on Dec. 13 in their CSAA opener against Fremont.

Lake City 52, Evart 22

LAKE CITY -- Evart (1-1) lost to Lake City in the Highland Conference opener Friday.

Kelci Elder led in scoring with eight points for Evart.

The Wildcats will be home on Thursday against Manton.

Houghton Lake 50, Pine River 47

LEROY -- Pine River (0-2) trailed 27-22 at halftime on Friday and lost to Houghton Lake in Highland Conference action Friday.

Madi Sparks had 13 points four steals and three rebounds for Pine River while Chelsea Wanstead had 10 points, six rebounds, four steals and four assists. Hailey Wanstead had five points, 11 rebounds and two steals, and Payton Fulmerhouser had five points and four rebounds.

Clare 45, Reed City 30

CLARE -- Reed City lost its season opener under new girls basketball coach Tim Beilfuss at Clare on Tuesday Dec. 3

Clare had quarter leads of 10-5, 22-14 and 34-19. Both teams scored 11 points in the final quarter.

Taylor Harrison had nine points for Reed City.

"Eight of our 10 kids scored," Beilfuss said. "We played exceptionally hard. We got into foul trouble right away. We had nine fouls the first five minutes. Everyone had to step up and play different roles."

Three key Coyotes encountered three fouls apiece in the first half.

Evart 44, Harrison 39

EVART -- Evart opened its season under new coach Matthew Tiedt with this win Tuesday over Harrison.
