REED CITY – It’s been a unique senior season on the Reed City soccer team for Dominick Giese and Kolt Slater.

Giese has been on the varsity two seasons and has focused on defense and midfielder. His role has been to help the team in various areas.

“Running and getting the ball out” has been his strengths, Giese said. “We want to keep on going to state hopefully.”

Slater is at outside mid and is in his third varsity season. He’s been playing that position, geared to get the ball out and assist on a goal.

“I’ve had lot of speed and my through balls have been better everytime,” he said. “We’re playing strong and we’ve been playing top quality teams. We had a lot of heart and our passing was better and we play strong defense.”

The season has two weeks remaining.

“We want to shut down Big Rapids and win districts,” Slater said.
