EVART  — Anson Poullion is in his senior season for Evart’s football team as an offensive and defensive lineman and is looking to have his best year.

It’s his third varsity season.

Poullion is looking to be more consistent as an offensive tackle this season.

“I improve every year,” he said.

Poullion considers his strength as a defensive tackle as being able to get through the offensive line. He wasn’t able to do much summer conditioning, but Poullion was encouraged with the team’s work during the preseason.

The running game was the focus as was evident in Friday’s 49-14 win over White Cloud to open the season. The Wildcats only attempted one pass in that game.

Poullion is one of only eight seniors on the roster.

A key goal, Poullion said, will be to contend for the Highland Conference title and go after a playoff spot. Evart would need six wins to automatically qualify for the playoffs.

The Wildcats will seek their second win of the season when they play Thursday at Harrison in nonleague action.
