Selfridge giving Coyotes leadership on defense
REED CITY -- Reed City's soccer team is entering the district tournament this week with hopes of having its best performances at critical times.
Among the seniors hoping to finish out his career on an impressive note is Max Selfridge.
It's his fourth varsity soccer season. He's always played defense.
"When we're all working together, we can hold the line and usually catch people offsides," Selfridge. "I have a powerful kick. That's what I would call my best strength."
Selridge said he doesn't get too much of an opportunity to score. But then again, it's not his actual role.
"I'm more of a get-the-ball-to-the-scorer type of player," Selfridge said.
The Coyotes are at Ludington on Thursday.
"According to previous years, we're having a great year," Selfridge said. "We're starting to work together and we're starting to score. We want to work on better passes and better communication."
