LEROY — Pine River blanked Manton 10-0 in the first of two Highland Conference games on Tuesday, May 16.
Tristen Nelson went five innings as the winning pitcher, striking out three and walking four. Jacob Roberts had two hits and two RBIs, Nelson had a double and RBI. Mason Powell had two hits and an RBI. Masa Ogawa had a hit and RBI. Luke Hill, Lane Ruppert and Raden Holmes had two hits and an RBI.
Pine River won the nightcap 9-3. Powell was the winning pitcher, striking out seven and allowing two hits.
Holmes had two hits and two RBIs. Hill had a double. Powell, Ogawa, Nelson and Park all had hits and RBIs.
Beal City 10-16, Reed City 0-0
BEAL CITY — Beal City handed Reed City 10-0 and 16-0 non-league setbacks on Tuesday, May 16.
Sidni Rushford was the losing pitcher in the first game, allowing 10 hits and striking out three while walking no one. Jordyn Storch and Kiera Barker had the only two hits for Reed City.
Maddie Morgan was the losing pitcher in the second game. She allowed 10 runs on six hits, striking out two and walking one in three innings. Storch also pitched for two innings and allowed six runs. Morgan had the Coyotes’ only hit.
Manton 12-7, Pine River 0-0
MANTON — Manton blanked Pine River 12-0 in the first game of a twinbill on Tuesday, May 16. Bekah Dean had Pine River’s only hit. Manton won the second game 7-0.
Pine River 19-20, Lake City 2-5
LEROY — Pine River won both games of a Highland Conference twinbill on Friday 19-2 and 20-5 over Lake City.
Pine River is 13-15 overall and 6-4 in the Highland.
“Our bats did us justice tonight all around,” Pine River coach Laura Mumby said.
KayLee Goodman, Alexis Bennett, Maddie Marks and Kourtney Brock had three hits apiece. Brock had four RBIs in the 19-2 win. Bennett was the winning pitcher and pitched a one-hitter. She fanned eight batters.
In the 20-5 win, Goodman and Fawn Hubbard had three hits apiece.
Brock was the winning pitcher.
