Big Rapids 6, Reed City 0

BIG RAPIDS — Big Rapids’ girls soccer team defeated visiting Reed City 6-0 on May 31 in a Division 3 pre-district matchup.

Reed City coach Bryan Hall said it was one of the team’s best efforts of the season.

“I was happy with the intensity level we came out and played with, because it doesn’t matter what we drew up on paper if we didn’t raise our intensity,” Hall said.

Brenna Westhoff made 15 saves for the Coyotes. They graduate 10 seniors.

“They’re strong,” Hall said. “We lean on them a lot. There will be some holes to fill.”

Vestaburg 9, Evart 3

Troy Lodholtz took the loss for the Wildcats. Josh Dorn had two singles. Trevin Ladd had a two-run single and Chris Imhoff had a single.

Evart’s season ended at 21-10.

“It has been a good season for having only had six wins last year,” Wildcat coach Josh Johnson said. “We’re really disappointed (about districts).”
