CROSS COUNTRY Reed City LAKE CITY \u2014 Reed City had two of the top three runners in Saturday\u2019s cross country Lake City Invitational. Brandon Wirth was second (17:56.98) and Calvin Rohde third (18:29.86). Noah Blythe was 12th (20:33.02). All three runners posted personal records. Reed City didn\u2019t have a full boys team. But the girls team was third and had 54 points, two points away from second. Joelynn Gamble-Brown was third (23:06.31), Mackenzie Vandawater was sixth (23:44.57), Catherine Kettner 15th (25:35.63), Leigha Johnson 23rd (28:41.15) and Hailey Duchene 31st (33:16.57). Pine River LEROY \u2014 Pine River\u2019s girls cross country team was fifth among seven squads on Sept. 13 in the Beal City Invitational. Olivia Thompson was 20th (22:44.5), Holly Bailor 29th (24:04.5), Kelsi Charles 30th (24:06.79), Anselma Barnett 32nd (24:23.2), and Jordan Dery 42nd (26:35.7). The boys didn\u2019t have a full team. Mark Geer was 33rd (20:45), Sam Pentces was 52nd (22:37.59) and Wade Fullerton 58th (23:35.59).
