Berrien Springs 41, Pine River 13

LEROY — Pine River ended its regular season at 4-5 with Friday’s loss.

Tyler Wing was 12-of-28 for 193 yards and two touchdowns. Hunter Esiline had three catches for 85 yards and two touchdowns, and also caught a two-point conversion. Matt Goodenow had 43 yards on four receptions.

Payton Pacola had nine tackles including four for losses.

Mason Powell added eight tackles.

It was 10-7 after the first quarter. The Bucks scored on a 40-yard pass from Wing to Esiline. It was 24-7 at halftime and 31-7 after the third quarter.

Pine River scored in the fourth quarter on a 35-yard pass from Wing to Esiline.

MCBAIN — Pine River lost to NMC 15-25, 29-27, 25-17, 27-29, 15-11.

Kyla Johnson had 12 kills, 24 digs and four blocks; KayLee Goodman had 14 kills, 14 digs and four blocks; Julie Justin added 10 kills and led the team in digs with 30 and Logan Powell had 33 assists and 16 digs.

“Our offense is where we broke down tonight,” Pine River coach Jana Dennis said. “We were defensively sound but just couldn’t finish plays.”
