REED CITY — It’s a busy week for the area wrestling teams.

Reed City is planning on being at the Pine River wrestling summer camp, set for this Friday and Saturday.

Reed City coach Roger Steig has had his weight room open Tuesday and Thursday. Some of his wrestlers have competed on the Border Wars Circuit.

“This is the summer we’ve went all summer long,” Steig said. “The kids and coaching staff wanted to do it. We were a little young last year and this is how we make up for it. We get more experience over the summer.”

The Pine River event is a five-session camp and four sessions will include technique and live wrestling while the remaining session will be a 2 1/2-hour canoe trip and cookout to follow on the Pine River. Parents are welcome to attend the canoe trip.

Instruction/technique will be provided by 10-plus current college wrestlers
