REED CITY — Chippewa Hills notched two more wins with a 72-6 topping of Reed City and 70-6 win over Central Montcalm on Wednesday in Central State Activities Association Gold Division action.

For Reed City against Chip Hills, Ryan Simmons won by pin at 112. The Coyotes beat Newaygo 48-26 in the second match. Winners for the Coyotes were Brett Walker (189), Anikan Andrus (103), Simmons, Taylor Eveland (119), Ethan Brown (125), Morgan Brighton (145), Lee Perrault (160) and Cassie Enos (171).

“Tonight kind of went the way we expected,” Reed City coach Roger Steig said. “We had a few matches we thought we could get against Chip Hills that got away from us. We’re very young. We have only one senior and one junior. All the rest are freshmen and sophomores.”

Reed City is at Grant on Wednesday.

“We want to keep our guys excited because the future is looking bright here in Reed City,” Steig said.
