Reed City volleyball team drops matches

LUDINGTON — Reed City’s volleyball team was 0-3 in nonleague action on Monday,

The Coyotes fell to Ludington 25-11, 25-23; to Tri County 25-19, 25-10 and Fremont 25-12, 25-11.

For the Coyotes, Melissa Olds had one kill, four aces and 20 digs; Meghan Borst had eight kills, two blocks and three aces; Madie Brown had 22 digs; Jordyn Storch had 15 digs and 22 assists; Sidni Rushford had six kills and two digs; Allison Obermeir had seven kills and two blocks; Alexis Van Eck had three kills and three digs and Kiera Barker had five digs.

“Overall, the kids played hard all night,” Reed City coach Don Patterson said. “They had some good defensive stretches. I saw some improvement.”

Reed City dropped a CSAA Gold match on Oct. 18 at Central Montcalm 25-15, 26-24, 25-16.

Leading Reed City were Borst with four kills, three aces, eight digs and a block; Rushford had six kills and three digs;  Olds had 11 digs;  Storch and 12 digs; Madelin Mora had three kills, two aces, two digs and a block; Brown had eight digs; and Obermier had two digs.

Reed City is home Thursday in a quad with Benzie Central, Kingsley and White Cloud. The Coyotes are at Central Montcalm on Saturday and enter Class B district action next week.
