Reed City volleyball team beats Grant
REED CITY – Reed City’s volleyball team had a very successful win on Wednesday in Central State Activities Association Gold action against perennial league power Grant.
It was 13-25, 26-24, 25-19, 26-24.
For Reed City, Demi Lodholtz had 18 kills, four aces and 11 digs; Kyleigh Weck had one kill, four blocks and two digs; McKena Hill had seven kills and six digs; Madison Stellini had 18 assists and four digs; Katelynn Holmes had eight kills, one ace and 21 digs; Madison Pollaski had two digs; Christina Malackanich had six kills, three blocks and five digs; Rylie Olds had one ace, 15 assists and four digs; Rylie Shafer, Elizabeth Cockrell and Raquel DuBreuil had 17, 19 and 15 digs respectively and Heather VanSyckle had nine digs.
“We played our most consistent match of the year,” Reed City coach Don Patterson said. “I thought our serve receive was really good tonight. Riley Shafer, Izzy Cockrell, Katelynn and Raquel are starting to play really well. Demi had a good night offensively. Ky and Chrisina blocked really well tonight.
“Our setters Olds and Stelli played their best match of the year.”
Earlier in the week on the road, Reed City lost to Big Rapids 25-15, 22-25, 25-21, 25-12.
For the Coyotes, Lodholtz had seven kills, three aces and 13 digs; Weck had one kill, one block, one assist and two digs; Hill had five digs; Stellini had six assists, three digs and one ace; Holmes had nine kills, two aces and 17 digs; Pollaski had one dig and one kill; Malackanich had three digs, five blocks and four kills; Olds had 10 assists and four digs; Shafer had 16 digs; Cockrell had 18 digs, one kill and one ace; DuBreuil had 17 digs and VanSyckle had two kills, one assist and six digs.
