Reed City volleyball falls

REED CITY -- Tri County snuck past Reed City 18-25 25-15, 25-19, 25-19 in CSAA action on Tuesday, Sept. 24

For Reed City, Demi Lodholtz had six kills and 15 digs; Mady Brown had six kills and 29 digs; Makena Hill had two digs; Katelynn Holmes had eight kills, eight digs and two blocks; and eight digs, Mackenzie Wein had seven kills and 24 digs, Maddie Morgan had 11 digs, Alison Duddles had five kills, 11 digs and nine assists and Rylie Olds had 12 digs and 23 assists.

McBain 3, Evart 1

MCBAIN - McBain won the first game 25-21, lost the second 25-22, and won the next two 25-6, 25-11 to Evart on Tuesday.

For Evart, Kara Henry had eight kills one block and three aces; Livia Hopkins had four kills, nine digs and one ace, Skylor Baumgardner had three kills one block and three digs, Deanna Conklin had nine assists and five digs and Kaylee Ladd had five digs.

Manton 3, Pine River 1

Pine River lost in four close games 25-14, 25-20, 27-29, 26-24 on Sept 24

"We had an injury early in the first set that took us a little time to adjust but the girls stepped up and played four solid games," Jana Dennis said. "Even though we came out on the losing end, our girls left their hearts on the floor and showed themselves how well they can fight. We played an aggressive game tonight. I'm proud of how we played and look forward to building on this for Thursday."

Pine River is 7-3.'


Mesick 22 Marion 0

It was 8-0 at the half and 16-0 after the third quarter.

"I thought we played a great defensive game," Marion coach Chad Grundy said. "We had a couple of defensive breakdowns but to give a potent offense like Mesick only two offensive touchdowns...We had two chances in the first half inside the 20 but had big penalties that ended drives and you can't win games when you turn the ball over four times."

In rushing, Brandon Stewart was 33-for-159 and Riley Moggo 10-for-41. Alex Sutten was 5-of-12 for 41 yards in passing.

Thomas Jenema had two catches for 31 yards. Defensively, Garret Bell had six tackles, Ty Baker had five and Gavin Romatz five.

Beal City 31, Pine River 12

LEROY -- Pine River fell to 3-2 overall with Friday's Highland Conference loss to undefeated Beal City. Brock Nelson had 85 rushing yards for the Bucks. He also had a 9-yard touchdown run. Sasha Huffman had a 21-yard touchdown run for the Bucks.
