Reed City track teams win meets

NEWAYGO — Reed City’s boys track team defeated Newaygo 76-61 and Lakeview 112-23 in Central State Activities Association action Monday at Newaygo.

Winners for the boys were Schuyler Smith in the high jump (5-2) and 110 hurdles (20.6), Nate Fasbender in the pole vault (9-6), Jon Green in the 100-meter dash (11.8), discus (120-2) and shot put (40-6.5), Michael Bradford in the long jump (19-10. 3/4), the 3,200-relay team of Adam Kehr, Kris Kellogg, Matt McGahey and Drake Walker (9:27.5) and the 4x400 relay (3:43.40) and 4x200 relay (1:36.7) teams of Andre Jones, Michael and Eric Bradford and Eric Voelker.

Also taking first was Chad Zagacki in the 1,600 run (4:50.90) and 3200 run (10:38.5); Michael Bradford in the 400 dash (54.10), Eric Voelker in the 300 hurdles (49.0), Adam Kehr in the 800 run (2:19.20), Andre Jones in the 200 dash (24.80), and Green, Eric Voelker, Collin Hatfield and Jones in the 400 relay (40.6)

Additional place finishers were Dylan Langlois in the pole vault, Jacob Vincent in the discus, T.J. Patterson in the shot put and discus, Eric Bradford in the long jump and 400 dash, Brad Marek in the 100 and 300 hurdles, Hatfield in the 100 and 200 dash, Kris Kellogg in the 1,600-meter run, Jesus Becerra in the 200 and 400 dash, Smith in the 300 hurdles, McGahey and Walker in the 3,200-meter and Wyatt Meese in the shot put.

Reed City won 68-55 to the Lakeview girls and lost to Newaygo 67-52.

Event winners for Reed City were Shawna Riley, shot put 26-4 1/2) and discus (77-4); Alison Schermerhorn in the long jump (13-2) and 400 dash (1:12.90), Sami Michell in the 100 hurdles (15.50) and 300 hurdles (46.6) Caitlin Payne, 100 dash (15.08) and 200 dash (30.70) and the 1,600-relay foursome of Payne, Autumn Shoemaker, Hanna Price and Michell (4:40.49)

Additional placers were Lily Heald in the discus, 400 and 800, Shoemaker in the long jump and hurdles, Hanna Price in the 100 and 300, McKenzie Cornelius and Mariah Cowsert in the 1,600 and Lizzy Quinn in the 800.
