Reed City sophomore making key contribution for girls team
REED CITY -- Demi Lodholtz is in her sophomore season for Reed City basketball and is making valuable contributions on the varsity level.
She scored eight points in Friday's CSAA loss to Fremont.
"I think we did good," Lodholtz said. "It's the first time we've scored 40 points in awhile.
"We have to take care of the ball better."
There's also been a focus, Lodholtz, said, on improving the 3-point shot.
Also a volleyball standout, it's her first varsity basketball season. She worked with the varsity during the summer and realized she might be playing varsity during the regular season.
Scoring will be among Lodholtz's many roles. She's hoping to be a strong shooter from various spots on the floor.
"We hope to create the tempo that we prefer every night," coach Tim Beilfuss said. "These girls truly play as a team and the more we get to work together this will only help us come February and March.
"We've had issues scoring and this is something we are working on every day."
Reed City plays at Grant on Friday.
