“The team did a much better job passing,” Pine River coach Jana Dennis said. “We were inconsistent offensively and that was a big part of the reason for our struggle. We showed quite a bit of resilience during the Grant game when our setter Sophie (Johnson) went down with an ankle injury. Sophie was able to return to the game for Sparta and the last two sets of that game were some of the best games we’ve played to date. Our focus is on the process and the process is improving every day. Now we look ahead to conference play this week and our continuing growth.”
Pine River is 11-13.
