Reed City soccer players working out
REED CITY – Tim Taubitz is among the Reed City soccer players putting in some summer work to get ready for the 2018 fall season.
Taubitz will be a senior this year. Reed City has been having open fields on Thursdays. Last week was the MHSAA mandated dead period, but open fields will resume this week. He plays as midfielder, and last year was his first varsity season.
“I’m a little bit more experienced,” he said after a recent Thursday practice. “We’ve been playing some open fields. It helps a lot. It gets us back in shape again and gets us bonding before the season starts.”
Taubitz is trying to stay in the proper soccer frame of mind and be more than ready for when practices start, which will be on Aug. 8.
“There’s no specifics,” he said, adding that turnouts for the open field have been around 10 boys.
The Coyotes will be competing in the Central State Activities Association Gold Division.
