MORLEY - Reed City will be in Division 5 and in the playoffs for the 10th straight year. The Coyotes defeated the Pine River Bucks 52-6 on Friday to end the regular season at 6-3.

Reed City will be at Kingsley (9-0) in a predistrict game this week.

Grant is at Muskegon Oakridge in the other half of the district bracket.

Reed City coach Scott Shankel wasn't totally surprised his team drew Kingsley.

"They're a good team, very fast and have some athletes," Shankel said.

The Coyotes qualified for their 10th straight playoff spot with Friday's win over Pine River to end the regular season.

"We started a little slow but then we picked it up," Shankel said. "I thought our defense played well. We held them to 107 yards total offense and had some fumble recoveries and interceptions. We put 350 yards on the goround offensively. We had some penalties and missed assignments, but other than that I thought we played well."

Reed City's ground game picked up 350 yards on 48 rushes.

Auston Major-Kailing had 12 carries for 127 yards. Brendan Ruppert had five rushes for 61 yards and two touchdowns. Noah Jones also had a rushing touchdown. Jeffrey Samuels threw a touchdown pass to Landon Tomaski and was 2-of-6 on passing for 56 yards.

Defensively, Chaz Davis had five tackles and Samuels had an interception.
